Small Business Development Center

As part of a statewide network, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at UW-Stevens Point offers no cost, confidential advising and resources as well as fee-based workshops/conferences to both startup and existing businesses primarily serving nine counties – Adams, Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Oneida, Portage, Vilas, Waupaca and Wood.

CREATE Your Community

CREATE Your Community works at the overlaps of creative placemaking, social cohesion, and entrepreneurial ecosystem building. CREATE Your Community helps communities activate people, places, and possibilities that improve quality of life and strengthen local economies.

CREATE Your Community also has a regional network of collaborative hubs to support entrepreneurial ecosystems, the creative economy, and quality places throughout North Central Wisconsin. The Collaborative Hubs offer co-working space with a range of amenities including access to 3D printers, podcast studios, video production studios, conference rooms, and makerspace. There are currently six Collaborative Hubs located throughout North Central Wisconsin.

Central Wisconsin SCORE

Central Wisconsin SCORE consists of a team of experienced entrepreneurs who volunteer their experience and knowledge to help small business professionals start, develop, and grow businesses. SCORE offers free business advice, business training, and numerous templates and tools. SCORE also offers the opportunity to be connected with mentors and provides business education tools such as events, online courses, recorded webinars, and a startup roadmap.

North Central Wisconsin Entrepreneurship Portal

North Central Wisconsin’s economy depends on entrepreneurs that are able to successfully start and manage companies, and on our ability to support existing businesses as well as attract new businesses. The North Central Wisconsin Entrepreneurship Portal supports entrepreneurs and business owners by providing access to information that can help them thrive.

The Entrepreneurship Portal identifies available funding opportunities for businesses; resources such as trainings, tools, and workshops & events to help support business development; organizations that support entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout the region; and available spaces such as co-working spaces and business incubators throughout North Central Wisconsin.

Start In Wisconsin

Start In Wisconsin is a collaboration between WEDC, local entrepreneur support organizations and the UW System Institute for Business and Entrepreneurship. This up-to-date online directory of business and networking resources and calendar of entrepreneur-focused events and programming is searchable by ZIP code, type of business assistance, and many other categories. Designed to support the those starting a business in Wisconsin, these tools help area innovators to start, scale and accelerate.
