Pushing the Limits of What’s Possible
For decades, our five-county region has been home to scientists and researchers exploring new frontiers in medicine, animal health, human genetics and more. Companies can draw upon the expertise of peers and a workforce with the qualifications to make critical scientific advancements.
The Marshfield Research Institute of the Marshfield Clinic performs clinical research in agricultural health and safety, epidemiology, human genetics and biomedical informatics. And, since 1981, the National Farm Medicine Center has explored occupational issues related to agricultural health and safety.
Real World Applications
Innovative animal health and plant science research is the focus of the University of Wisconsin’s Agricultural Research Station, which devotes more than 1,200 acres to dairy research, including heifer growth and management, genomic data implementation and common pathogens. The Wisconsin Institute for Sustainable Technology also provides research, laboratory services and education for many ag-related businesses and industries.
“While I have always lived in the Great Lakes area, Wisconsin has truly become my “home.” Central Wisconsin is the heart of the state and brings the beauty and diversity of nature, but also hardworking, friendly and family oriented communities that make this area so desirable.”
