WEDA is thrilled to announce Angel Laidlaw has been appointed to serve on the WEDA Board of Directors. Laidlaw, who filled a vacant seat on the Board, is a long-time WEDA member who has served on numerous WEDA committees and has been a key leader in the organization’s legislative advocacy efforts.
“I am honored to join the WEDA Board of Directors and support the organization’s long-standing commitment to advancing sound economic policy throughout Wisconsin,” said Angel Laidlaw. “WEDA’s proactive and collaborative advocacy efforts — from legislative engagement to coalition building — are critical to strengthening our state’s economic development infrastructure. I look forward to contributing to this important work and helping ensure that the voice of economic development professionals remains strong and effective in shaping Wisconsin’s future.”
Laidlaw currently serves as President and CEO of Centergy, a regional economic development organization dedicated to advancing growth and prosperity in Central Wisconsin. Before joining Centergy, Laidlaw served as President of the Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce, the local chamber and economic development organization for the greater Wood County area. Prior to that, she worked in Marketing Communications for the Portage County Business Council and spent several years working in the tourism industry. She is also a past recipient of WEDA’s Andy Lisak Young Professional Award.
“WEDA is excited to have Angel join our board of directors and continue her work to advance WEDA as an organization. She has been an active and valuable WEDA member for many years, and we welcome her continued leadership as a board member,” said Melissa Hunt, WEDA President and CEO. “Her work ethic, dedication to WEDA, and enthusiasm for economic development is unparalleled and will help deliver exceptional value to our members.”
