Centergy Hosts 4th Annual Developer Tour, Showcasing Central Wisconsin’s Growth Opportunities

Wausau, WI – Centergy proudly hosted its 4th Annual Central Wisconsin Developer Tour on June 25–26, 2025, drawing more than 40 attendees from across the region and beyond. This invitation-only event brought together a dynamic mix of developers, economic development professionals, municipal leaders, and nonprofit organizations, all with a shared goal of advancing housing and commercial development in the Centergy Region.  This year’s tour was made possible through strong collaboration with the City of Wisconsin Rapids and the Village of Rib Mountain, our featured host communities. Developers joined the tour to explore available development opportunities and connect with leaders shaping the future of Central Wisconsin.

The first day began in Wisconsin Rapids with lunch at Lincoln High School, followed by a guided bus tour of key development sites throughout the city. The tour included a mix of local and historic sites—among them the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune building, a notable redevelopment opportunity in the heart of the city. The day concluded with a networking reception at Timekeeper Distillery in Wausau, offering a relaxed setting for attendees to connect with peers, community leaders, and project partners.

The final day of the tour started at the Historic Chalet at Granite Peak Ski Resort in Rib Mountain with breakfast and featured speakers who shared insights on the community’s recreational assets, quality of life, and the Village’s unique opportunities for growth. The Rib Mountain tour focused on available commercial properties—particularly in high-visibility corridors near Hummingbird Road—as well as additional sites with potential for new housing and mixed-use development. The day wrapped with a closing lunch at El Tequila Salsa, a well-known local Mexican restaurant.

Both days of the tour highlighted a diverse range of opportunities, including vacant land, existing buildings, and shovel-ready sites, providing developers with a comprehensive look at what each community has to offer for future housing, business, and mixed-use projects.

Throughout the two-day experience, the event spotlighted local business owners and community leaders who are making meaningful impacts in the region. With a focus on intentional connection and collaboration, the Developer Tour helps align developers with communities actively pursuing growth and revitalization.
